The Story Behind Lauryan

Lauryan Yoga Boutique was named after my two children, Lauren and Ryan. They are my greatest inspiration and the reason sustainability is woven into everything we do.

As a mother, I believe we have a responsibility to care not only for ourselves, but for the world we leave behind. The products we choose today help shape the future our children will inherit.

My journey to yoga began during one of the most difficult seasons of my life. After losing my father, I found myself searching for peace, perspective, and a way to navigate grief. What I discovered on a yoga mat was more than movement—it was stillness. It was healing. It was the simple power of being fully present.

Years later, as my practice deepened, I became frustrated with traditional synthetic yoga mats. As someone who sweats a lot during practice, I often found myself slipping mid-pose. Determined to find a better solution, I began researching alternatives and discovered cork.

It was everything I had been looking for: sustainably harvested without harming the tree, free from synthetic chemicals, and designed to provide reliable grip throughout practice. From my very first class, I was hooked.

What began as a search for a better yoga mat evolved into a larger mission.

Before the pandemic, I taught yoga to cancer patients in recovery and seniors in assisted living communities. It was some of the most meaningful work of my life—a reminder that yoga meets us exactly where we are, at every stage of life. That belief continues to shape everything we do at Lauryan.

Today, Lauryan offers thoughtfully designed cork yoga mats, journals, candles, and wellness gifts for adults and children. Our products are carried in yoga studios nationwide, featured on The Knot, and trusted by FIT4MOM communities across the country.

At our core, we believe wellness is about more than exercise. It's about creating moments of mindfulness, gratitude, connection, and self-care in everyday life.
